Another good thing that happened to me over the last couple of weeks is that I won Anna's bead giveaway! I was so excited! She sent so many wonderful beads - I never expected her to send so much! I've always wanted to get into beading and I've got a little craft box full of ones that I've collected over the years myself. Now I have no excuse but to get to work!
There's probably a name for these, but I don't know what it is. These are long strands of beads looped together and then all of the strings are tied at the top. The colors are gorgeous!
This bag of treasure was bursting at the seams. There are so may different sizes and styles of beads that the picture really doesn't do them all justice. I told Anna that I had been wanting to make a "walking string" like a friend of mine has at work. She has a length of string with a knot tied on each end and one in the middle. For each lap that she walks at work she slides a bead from one end of the string to the other in order to keep count. The knot in the middle keeps the beads from sliding back.
I call these beads "snow balls" - they large beads covered with very small holeless beads. I fell in love with them when I saw Anna's pictures. I just love the way they sparkle!
Thanks again Anna for such a great giveaway!

I'm glad you like them. The strands of seed beads are called hanks. They usually contain 10 different strings of beads per hank. I hope you are able to create something with all the beads I sent. The two hanks of red seed beads are different. One is round the other is faceted.
wow- she did send you a lot! So generous!! Love it all :)
Wow, can't wait to see the masterpieces you create with these gems! Lucky you!
